Learn about Public DNS Servers
A DNS server exists to allow people and applications to lookup records in DNS tables. Most DNS servers are private nowadays, i.e. they are configured so that this service will only be provided to the people and organizations who own and maintain them.
A few domain name servers on the Internet provide DNS resolutions for the general public. This are the Public DNS Servers.
True Public DNS servers are public on purpose, but you may find a few public DNS servers that are public because their system administrators made a mistake and misconfigured them. Those DNS servers will be “public” until they are eventually fixed.
