Forgot LinkSys Router Password

Well, the easiest thing to do is: Reset your router to the default settings.

To restore your factory default configuration, please hold the reset button on your unit for 30 seconds.

Once this is done, all you need to do is login and reconfigure it the way you want it.

And how do you login and reconfigure your LinkSys Router?

Connect one of it’s Ethernet ports to a PC and use your web browser to go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/.

A popup box will then ask you to enter a username and password to login to your router.

If your have an older router the username will be blank and the password will be “admin”, if you have one of the newer models BOTH the username and the password will be “admin”.

After you do this you will be past the login screen and you can now reconfigure the LinkSys at will.
